Vicki Disley

Vicki Disley

Curriculum Manager: Business, Computing, Travel & Accounting

Hi!

I’m Vicki Disley and I lead the Business and Professional Studies department, which includes courses from Level 2 through to university level in Accounting, Business, Computing, Travel & Tourism.

I have had the absolute pleasure to teach and develop course programmes across most levels including A Level, vocational courses and on degree programmes in a number of Further Education colleges and at a land-based college.

I initially studied for a BSc in Economics, before studying for a PGCE to be able to teach. I have also had the opportunity to complete an MBA and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I really enjoy working here at Newcastle College and I am really lucky to work with a professional and dedicated staff team that will inspire and motivate you to achieve success, giving you the skills and knowledge needed for higher education or for entering the workplace.

Enjoy your time at Newcastle College!

Curriculum Leader: Level 3 Business (Year 1)

Hi!

I’m Charlotte Thompson and I’m the Curriculum Leader for Level 3 Business (Year 1).

I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and industry experience with students, helping you to develop your all-round business skills and knowledge.

Before working at the College, I worked for Cadbury in their marketing department, which was a brilliant experience, and one that I love talking about.

One of the best parts of my job is setting exciting challenges for students, which is the perfect way for you to get a full understanding of a topic whilst getting invaluable, practical experience. You will get to experience a variety of projects whilst studying on this course and I enjoy working with employers to set live briefs for students to work on, which I think is a really great way to get a real insight into the world of business. You could even work with an advertising agency to create a campaign or impress local employers at a recruitment expo. There is just so much going on!

I look forward to meeting you really soon!

Beth Bell

Beth Bell

Lecturer in Travel and Tourism

Hi!

I’m Beth Bell and I'm a Lecturer in Travel and Tourism.

My enthusiasm for travel sent me on a journey to Sheffield Hallam University to complete a First Class Honours Degree in Tourism Management. This allowed me to grow my interest in sustainable tourism approaches, and consider how as a keen traveller I could reduce the negative impacts of my trips, and I am fortunate in my current role to be able to educate tourism staff of the future in this field.

Since university, I have been lucky enough to enjoy roles in both the hospitality and events industries, where customer focus was always very important. As a college lecturer I enjoy being able to enhance and shape the communication and customer service skills of students through practical role-play assessment.

I look forward to meeting you soon!
